Reading Golf Club has a very strong and active Ladies’ Section with handicaps of 3 and above, including several Berkshire County representatives, along with the Berkshire County Ladies’ Captain and the Berkshire County Ladies’ Training Officer. So, whether your interest is the occasional round with friends, competitive golf at County level, or something in between, then please do consider joining us.
Our club’s Academy is also an excellent place to start to learn to play the game and many new ladies have joined us after benefitting from these lessons.
The Ladies have roll ups on Tuesday, Thursday, and weekend mornings, and there is usually a friendly competition when there is not a qualifying event. Our medals and stablefords are on both Tuesdays and at the weekends with reserved tee times. Our club championship and Ladies Captains’ Day is held at the weekend.
Members of all abilities mix and play together regularly and it is easy to coordinate games with members' diaries and phones, and our online tee booking system.
Over the spring and summer we regularly play friendly ladies’ and mixed matches against other clubs, and all handicaps are welcomed. Teams are entered in the Berkshire Gold, Silver, Bronze leagues, and county events, where we have had recent success in winning. We also have many competitions throughout the year both with and against the Men’s sections.
For those of you that like to travel a little further afield, RGC has reciprocal arrangements with several other golf clubs, where members can play free of charge, by arrangement through the club office.
The club has a busy social calendar which includes both formal and informal events. The regular Bridge evenings and our well-attended Ladies’ Supper Evenings are an opportunity to meet up with all lady members, whether they are golfers or social members.
If you are interested in joining the ladies’ section or would like more information, please contact either the pro shop team or the office.
